VARICELL II Flanders Jas Filtration

VARICEL II

Heavy-Duty Construction - High Performance in Tough Operating Conditions. Provides Strength, Moisture Resistance. The frame is made with a 2-piece die-cut constructed from high wet-strength beverage carrier board.

Indoor Air Quality

VariCel II filters with antimicrobial are designed specifically to improve Indoor Air Quality (IAQ). Air filters are created to trap and concentrate particulate air contaminants, including fungal and bacterial spores. The presence of antimicrobial in the filter media is intended to preserve the integrity of the media through the useful life of the filter. Antimicrobial preservatives are not meant to increase the efficiency of the filter, or to kill microorganisms “on the fly” as they pass through a filter. Antimicrobial is EPA-registered and environmentally safe.

Unitized Construction Adds Strength, Prevents Leakage

Two mating die-cut boxes are bonded together, forming a double wall around the perimeter of the filter. The mini-pleat media pack is bonded inside the double wall. The double-walled frame prevents leakage and increases rigidity.

Easy Disposal

The thinner depth and fiberboard frame make disposal easy. VariCel II filters are only one-third the volume of other high-efficiency filters, significantly reducing the contribution to landfills. With no metal components, they are also suitable for incineration.

Features

  • True high-efficiency filters – only 4-inch-thick media pack
  • Slim-line, mini-pleat design lowers operating costs
  • Engineered for a variety of applications
  • Easy disposal

SUPERFLOW 24

Flanders Superflow 24 is a V-bed HEPA filter (99.99% at 0.30 micrometer) specifically designed for high airflow applications requiring HEPA efficiency at an ultra low-pressure drop. The Superflow 24 can be incorporated into systems with air velocities of 600 fpm and a pressure drop of 1.0-inch w.g.

The Superflow 24 filters are manufactured with wet laid microfine fiberglass media. The media is formed into a mini pleat utilizing a hot melt separator and arranged in a V-bed configuration. There are twelve individual mini pleat packs sealed on all four sides to the frame with two-component polyurethane

Features

The product offers the following advantages over conventional HEPA filters:

• Longer Life – Gasket seal Superflow 24 filters have 400 sq. ft. of media compared to 240 sq. ft. For traditional HEPA filters. The greater media area provides a longer time period between filter replacements.

• Improved Efficiency – The significant quantity of media translates into an extremely low media velocity. Therefore a minimum overall efficiency of 99.99% at 0.30 µm is easily assured. Traditional HEPA filters have an overall efficiency of 99.97% at 0.30 µm.

• Lower Operating Cost – The typical HEPA filter pressure drop can range from 1.4-inch w.g. to 1.8-inch w.g. at the rated flow. The pressure drop of the Superflow 24 is 1.0-inch w.g. at the rated flow.

HOUSINGS

The Bag-In/Bag-Out side access high efficiency air filter housing is a  permanent housing  designed to hold either  gasket or gel seal filters.   It is an all welded  product designed for critical clean air exhaust applications.

Inside each unit’s  door(s), a ribbed inlet  collar provides for a PVC  bag attachment.  The  PVC bag creates a

barrier seal between service personnel and the contaminated filters. Therefore,

filter-servicing personnel avoid direct contact with any threatening particulate.  An initial bag kit is included with each order.

Depending on end user requirements, a variety of prefilter, absorber, and/or HEPA filter sections are incorporated into the unit.  Housings may be joined in series or parallel.Test sections in series may also be incorporated with the housing. Specific fan filter combinations are also available for isolation room systems. These systems encompass blowers with inverters/starters and or PLC controllers to provide constant system airflow as the filters load.

A removable access door for each type filter section allows for individual filter/absorber change out. Each housing is custom manufactured to meet specific end user requirements.

The all stainless steel unit allows an unencumbered airflow through the upstream and downstream openings.  All Bag In/Bag Out housings are factory pressure decay tested in accordance with ANSI/ASME-N510-1995 reaffirmed up to +/- 10” W.G.  Further, all units are manufactured in accordance to the quality criteria listed in AG-1.  Complete component trace ability is provided upon request.

ACCESSORIES

Section d'injection en amont avec ou sans diffuseurs, Jas Filtration

UPSTREAM TEST SECTION WITH OR WITHOUT SWING AWAY DIFFUSER

The upstream test section is used when individual filter efficiency testing is required versus the overall system. The upstream test section is used to inject an aerosol challenge via spider nozzles upstream of the specific HEPA filter and or carbon adsorber. The aerosol challenge is then uniformly dispersed through a diffuser, which is either fixed or swings away per the end user’s operating criteria. Samples of the

aerosol are taken upstream of the HEPA filter and penetration levels are determined. The test section can be incorporated with and without prefitler sections. Please contact the factory for any technical information required.

Applications

• Radiological Contamination

• Pharmaceutical and Biotechnological Clean Rooms

• Medical Device Clean Rooms

• Microelectronics

• Nanotechnology

• Hospital Suites

ISOKINTIC SCAN SECTION

The isokinetic scan section is used to scan HEPA filters and is located directly downstream of the HEPA filter. The in place test is conducted by removing the door of the housing and manipulating the isokinetic probe through a clear PVC bag. The probe travels along a grid as so samples can be taken of each segment of the filter to pinpoint any filter

leakage. Upon finding the precise location of the filter leak, the end user has the option of either repairing the filter or replacing it.
